Albert Franklin Beckenholdt, 92, of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 8:10pm at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017.

Memorials may be made to the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, Livingston County Humane Society or charity of the donor’s choice.

Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Franklin was born on February 10, 1925 in Farmer City, Illinois the son of Willard J. and Bertha (Hender) Beckenholdt. He was named after his Uncle Albert Hender and grandfather Franklin Hender. Franklin  married Lois Jean Shapland on August 15, 1948 in Bloomington and were married 59 years. Lois passed away on February 3, 2008.

Franklin is survived by his daughter, Linda Mayback of Cornell, IL, grandchildren, Chris Mayback of Cornell, Tara (Dave) Jacoby of Towanda and Timothy Beckenholdt of Savoy and great grandchildren, Jayden and Isabella Jacoby.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Paul Beckenholdt, a daughter-in-law Mary Beckenholdt and son-in-law Joe Mayback.

Franklin attended Moore High School for 3 years and transferred to Mansfield High School where he graduated in 1943. He enjoyed farming and lived on the farm his entire life. He loved his great grandchildren, and spending time with them brought him tremendous joy. 

He will be dearly missed by all of his family. The family would like to send a special thank you to Larry and Karla Ruch for their help throughout the years.
